Let’s make a deal
Finally…
(I’m avoque, in case you didn’t follow the link)
Yeah, I went for the deal. The extra $400 just seemed worth it to me. Not that I don’t think I could have come back to win, but having him go for the split by chip count made it an easy decision for me. Funny thing is, I almost busted out when the eventual winner spiked a three on the turn (and another on the river, just for effect) to nearly bust me out three hours into the tourney. Overall, I was extremely happy with my play. I did utilize CJ’s 10 rules for cashing in a MTT though. I busted some desperation all-ins with hands like 8d-7d and successfully came back from the brink of death with Jd-9d and A-10o. The stars were aligned and I’m (thankfully) not as painfully aware that I’m sucking on the cash game lately.
Oh yeah, and I finally realized that you can get free shit with Party Points?!?! Where the hell have I been all this time. I cashed in for a few poker books and a special little gift that I’m ashamed to admit that I ordered. To my credit though, it was free. I’ll have more on it later. Now it’s time to sit in front of the TV and watch some Flavor of Love. Flav-EEERRRRR FLAAAAAAAVVV!

I think those rules are generally good for any tournament. Congrats on the great finish. I haven’t played on Party Poker in a while I might have to make a deposit. I took about two or three months off from online. About a week ago it hit me that once a week in a B&M is not going to keep me sharp. Especially when there are thousands of people that play countless hours online. I also read an article about why good players lose online and it opened my eyes up to why I get a ton of bad beats online or can go on tilt quicker. One thing about online play was the anonymous factor. In a live game you have 9 other people staring at you, watching you so playing smart and focused is a bigger deal. When you’re at home in your pjs, you make silly moves or get bored or don’t care how you look, thus leading to bad mistakes or what seem to be more bad beats. Good article. Anyway, sorry for the tangent, nice joerb on 2nd place.
